A number of adjustments have been made to the public catalog site in order to meet WCAG compliance. Given the below adjustments the website should be fully accessible to everyone, and now passes a number of online accessibility validators.
UX/UI changes include:
  • Added ability to navigate the entire website with the keyboard only
  • Improved font-sizes and contrast ratio
  • Introduced auto-focus on search inputs when using the website search, as well as other search pages
  • Introduced auto-focus on the current page content when navigating to a new route/page

Introduced support for screen readers:
  • Added meaningful and/or functional ARIA tags to all interactive elements
  • Introduced status-related notification-messages directed to screen readers that update users on certain actions like "search in progress," "15 results found," "navigation complete."
